[ZU2Korea] Day 1

On Nov 10, 2010; the Korean Club of Zayed University for girls flew from Abu Dhabi Airport to the land of new opportunities South Korea. The girls were extremely excited and interested in what the future will hold for them, even though the girls weren’t able to sleep in the airplane and were a bit tired they were happy that their dreams were becoming true. However, we had stop over Qatar for few minutes in order to reach our destination.

Once we arrived in Incheon Airport on Nov 11, 2010; we were greeted by representatives of the UAE Embassy. In addition to that, we were extremely amazed about the design and structure of the airport which was far bigger than Abu Dhabi airport. After we took our bags, we got to experience the cold weather of South Korea. Most of the girls weren’t able to handle the cold since the temperature was between 7-13 degree Celsius. We rode a bus shuttle from the Hayat Incheon Hotel and started our journey from that onwards. The hotel was exceedingly great not only for its room but also for its services, food as well as its design and structure.

After we checked into our rooms, we kept searching for a local Korean restaurant at the corner of the hotel. It wasn’t fancy but the food was delicious especially the soya paste soup and kimchi. The waitress and waiter were extremely kind and honest.

We later went to E-Mart, a grocery, which was also close to the hotel. We learned about the peapearo which is a celebration of giving away chocolate sticks to people as a gift every Nov 11. Our Chaperone and head of the club, Donald Glass, was distributing some of them to us like a Santa Clause. Since it was great, we bought some more for evening snacks for the trip. After a long day we went to the hotel and slept, that was our first night in Korea.
